Ashtanga Yoga is my anchor

Ashtanga Yoga has huge benefits for both our physical and mental health. Even seemingly less challenging postures get the heart beating, lungs pumping and blood flowing. When we increase blood flow to vital organs, we improve energy levels, circulation and digestion- the intestines are a muscle. Ashtanga also stimulates the lymphatic system, helping the body detoxify and keeping the immune system healthy.

Recent scientific research has shown that Ashtanga triggers changes to our brain chemistry. More blood and oxygen heading to the brain promotes new connections between brain cells and can help stave off the decline of brain tissue that comes with age, and even alter how we think.

Ashtanga Yoga has often saved my sanity. It’s kept me healthy through all sorts of personal ordeals. It’s been a constant companion with the ability to humble, inspire and right me. The postures and sequence are always the same....how it feels from day to day is something completely different. But always my anchor in these uncertain times⚓️😊
