Bhujapidasana - at first it is possibly the most dreaded postures of ashtanga primary series, although it’s only half way through! but gradually it becomes easier. It's the first arm balance that we hold in primary series and requires us to apply all that we have been learning up to that point in the sequence and all at the same time!.....it requires bandhas, breath, strength, openness, and coordination.

That's why I believe this posture is so important and always include it in class, along with other less challenging options such as the very beneficial squat😊 It teaches us so much while entering it, holding it and getting out of it!

It might take months or even years to explore all the aspects of this posture but it's really worth it for the strength and the confidence we gain....
